O XIII EMEP é dedicado ao legado da Professora Doutora Maria Luisa Ortiz Alvarez. Para além de sua excelência profissional, Maria Luisa foi uma amiga extraordinária da American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese (AOTP), dedicando seu tempo e conhecimento para apoiar nossos membros e contribuir significativamente para nosso crescimento. Seu legado de dedicação e paixão pela educação justa e transformadora seguirá vivo em nossos corações e na memória de todos que tiveram o privilégio de conhecê-la. The XIII EMEP is dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Maria Luisa Ortiz Alvarez. Beyond her professional excellence, Maria Luisa was an extraordinary friend of the American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese (AOTP), dedicating her time and knowledge to support our members and contribute significantly to our growth. Her legacy of dedication and passion for fair and transformative education will continue to live on in our hearts and the memory of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Tema do XIII EMEP:
"Intertextualidades e Interconectividades no Ensino/Aprendizagem da Língua Portuguesa (PLE, PLA, PLM, PLH e outras)"
O fortalecimento dos nossos programas de português pelo mundo está sempre muito atrelado à importância que damos para a relação entre a língua e as necessidades de comunicação em diferentes esferas. Para este EMEP, buscamos a apresentação de trabalhos que evidenciem essa necessidade através de diferentes tipos de intertextualidade e do diálogo interdisciplinar e intercultural, fazendo da língua um meio concreto para traduzir objetividades e subjetividades por meio de experiências significativas e enriquecedoras.
Os palestrantes do XIII EMEP terão a oportunidade de ver as suas comunicações publicadas pelo Portuguese Language Journal, depois de submetidas sem identificação e serem aprovadas por pares.
Datas importantes:
12 de março prazo para o envio de propostas
30 de março: envio da confirmação da aceitação das propostas
25 de abril: prazo para os autores aprovados se inscreverem na conferência
25 de maio: apresentação do programa

Theme of the XIII EMEP:
"Intertextualities and Interconectivities in the Teaching/Learning of Portuguese (PLE, PLA, PLM, PLH and others)"
The strengthening of our Portuguese language programs around the world is always closely attached to the importance we give to the relation between the language and communication needs in different spheres. For this EMEP, we seek the presentation of works that highlight this need through different types of intertextuality and the interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue, making language a concrete means to translate objectivities and subjectivities through meaningful and enriching experiences.
Presenters at the XIII EMEP will have the opportunity to see their communications published in the Portuguese Language Journal, after submitting their articles to a double-blind peer-review process.
Important dates:
February 25th: deadline for submitting proposals
March 25th: sending confirmation of acceptance of proposals
April 25th: deadline for approved authors to register for the conference
